The Premier Cultural and Lifestyle Event of the Year: The 4th Annual Taste of Vegas Art, Cuisine, Music Festival benefiting the Community Food Bank September 27, 28 & 29th, 2002 The 4th Annual Taste of Vegas Art, Cuisine and Music Festival happens Friday September 27, from 6-10PM, Saturday September 28, from 12-10PM, and Sunday the 29, from 12-to 6PM at the Clark County Outdoor Amphitheater. It’s produced by Beasley Broadcasting, Taste of Vegas Inc., and John R. Bonds. Expected attendance is 15 thousand + people... The Taste of Vegas Art, Cuisine and Music Event plans to raise 8 to 10 tons of food for the Community Food Bank. “We’re told that amount will feed about 16-thousand hungry people,” says event founder John R. Bonds. “We donated 5-tons last year, so I think we’ll reach our goal.” Bring a non-perishable item of food and you’ll receive one dollar off the price of admission... Participating Festival restaurants include the first local Las Vegas “Wine Spectator Grand Award” winner Aureole, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, Osteria Del Circo from Bellagio, The Tillerman, Charlie Palmer Steak at the Four Seasons, Hawaiian Plantation, La Salsa Cantina, Hamburger Mary’s, Z’ Tejas Southwestern Grill, Josef’s Brasserie, Mario Maccioni’s soon to be opened Tre Restaurant on Rampart Blvd., Memphis Championship Barbecue, La Scala Ristorante and several other top eateries... Cox Communications and DeLuca Liquor & Wine are back for the 4th straight year as the Main Co-Sponsors... other sponsors include Sparkletts Water... The Great Indoors Home Store... Desert Toyota and Desert Audi... One-Cap Realty... Wine of The Month Club... and Community One Federal Credit Union... Eighties super group Berlin performs on Friday evening. The Greg Kihn Band takes the stage Saturday evening, followed by John Waite at 7:30 PM. Sunday afternoon will feature 2 top National Jazz Bands. Cost of admission is just $8.00; seniors (55 and older) pay just $4.00 on Sunday... R.H. Duke will again host live, indoor cooking demonstrations featuring top chefs. This year’s chefs include Michael Jordan of Rosemary’s and “Michelin Starred” French Chef David Feau of Lutece, Cindy Hutson and Master Mixologisat Tony Abu Ganim from The Bellagio. The celebrity hosts of the popular TBS TV program “Dinner & a Movie - Claud Mann and Lisa Kushell will also do a demo Saturday at 3PM, followed by a “meet and greet” and signing of their new cookbook...
